Backbone & Skin

Up from the dust a slab was born. A perfect dance and marrying of shifty earth, structural steel, and malleable concrete. So, confession time; I was not here for this part of the process. I saw the rebar going in, but at the time I was prepping to leave the country, so my mind was definitely elsewhere. I have only one complaint about this part of the process in not being there: the anchor bolts were not tied into the slab. I don’t know why they weren’t…but it didn’t happen. Reminder for next time: make sure not to do concrete pouring while out of the country. This was frustrating, but we’ll make it. Here’s some pics of how it was put together.
