Our Skeletons

Part of being a Christian is seeing where the Lord gives us spiritual principles in our everyday lives. Lately it’s been compelling to see how building a home reflects creation. Building the slab—a garden of sorts—for the home to live, cover, and protect; from the earth skeletons begin to form and the Architect sees his vision framed, and well framed it is. “This will be a great place to dwell” He says. “I will put skin to what I’ve made and it will embody and reflect me in nature, but not in substance. Oh how excellent it will be to live here.” Oh how gracious the Lord is to allow us to see His Work in the work of our hands.

If you read the last post you know that the skytrack purchased to put this building up was too short. That said it took some finagling and counterbalancing, but the four corner towers were connected. The crew tied a rope in the middle of the long beam and weighted down the short side to raise the tall side. Quite a feat to watch. The beams were also put in to rigid up the structure and it looks dope.

To save a post I’m also going to fast forward a week and include the wall framing in this post. The windows and door frames have been put up and they look great. I’m not sure what to name it yet, but the building is taking shape. Some things are off, but I’ve heard it’s a miracle if everything lines up. Here’s to the coming building! Stay tuned for skin.
