Let There Be Light

Dirt. Has. Been. Broken. Praise Jesus! The idea for this project was conceived early in my time here in Groesbeck and now, two years later, it is coming fruition. The first few things we had to do was test the type of soil and how well it will hold. So far, next to all the trees, the machines sink a good 8" to 16" making for a muddy time. This day they just tore off the top layer to let all the clay dry out.

Bobby, my trusty auger runner is at the helm. The ground beneath them is really soft, so he's sinking a little bit.

The crew scarred open the green earth to begin planting my little piece of design upon the surface. I've had many people concerned or anxious about it's orientation...Groesbeck sits off axis to a true map, but my home will be oriented due north and south. It's definitely odd...But i felt normality would have been a poor choice for this project.

They also dug up some Groesbeck heritage...A Groesbeck Red...I'm not super impressed, but the neighbors have been. They say they're worth some money...so...contact me if you would like some of this Groesbeck gold!
